Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving morning my family came over for a picture. Everyone was able to be here except for Kelan who was still in England so we thought it would be a good opportunity to update the pictures.

I even got some of my niece while she was here and available.

Then my mom and dad took the girls to Richfield to my Grandpa Hoopers for dinner. Dustin went to work and Ryker and I planned on hanging out at home but at the last minute Dustin mom and dad called and I went and ate dinner with them. So unfortunately Dustin is the only one who didn't get Thanksgiving dinner this year. Sorry dear.

On Friday I went to my moms and we made a bunch of frames to get ready for a craft boutique
(here is just one. We have about 40 of them)

That night my mom, my sister in law Leah and I jumped on the bandwagon and went to see New Moon. It was great. I am still team Edward though even I do feel bad for Jacob.

Afterwards we went to dinner and it was yummy Mexican from Los Amigos. (sorry Ryker)

Then on Saturday Kenley and Leah came over to my house to hang out and watch the 'big game' in neutral territory. Or not. but we did watch some of it (way to go Coleby) and hang out.

On Thanksgiving Leah and mom learned how to make scrubbies from Grandma Bobbie so Leah tried to teach me. I learned how to do them right handed so because I am left handed they may never look very pretty but hey, they still get the dishes clean right?

whew. and that was the weekend.

Down at grandma's and my silly girls.....

We made another trip down to my mom's house for some Sunday dinner and so someone else could take a turn holding the cranky little one....   There were plenty of volunteers. Of course we had to get a Sunday nap in..

while grandpa read stories with Kenzie

Then it was time for the traditional Sunday night dinner - crepes. And Kenzie helped.

While grandma read Haylee a story

Then Haylee took a turn holding Ryker

and then Ryker had some alone time on the floor with the burper. I don't know why but having it on his head made him happy.

Now on to my silly girls....  I went to work today and left Dustin in charge and when I came home this is what I found......

I don't think I know these two.......

Updates on hip

I apologize that I haven't been back to post the updates on Ryker's hip ultrasound. Things tend to be a little crazy around here. We did go in on the 13th and have the ultrasound done. We were very happy to hear and see that nothing was wrong at all!!  His joints and hip socket were perfectly formed and deep and all is well. It was wonderful news. They said that it was good to check it out because had there been a problem it is best caught early on. So we are grateful for medical advances and good pediatricians who are very thorough.

Kenzie and Ryker

Kenzie loves her little brother so much! She just can't leave him be for 2 minutes.  I had him on his tummy doing some tummy-time and Kenzie made sure she kept an eye on him.

oh dear.....

Catching up... again.

It seems like that is always the title of my posts and the story of my life...  Catching up. So here we go:
I need to back post a couple of Rykers pictures.

I can't resist sleeping baby pictures! I just think they are so sweet when they are asleep. (and not screaming) :)

November 6. Happy Due Date Day Ryker!! ... and you are 4 weeks old but that is ok with me. That is 4 more weeks I got to enjoy you in person.

Like father, like son. Not only do they nap best on the couch, they hate the camera

and they have good dirty looks.

This is the first picture I have been able to get with Ryker and grandpa Livingston. They tend to avoid the camera in general in the Livingston family. I still don't have one with him and grandma Livingston.

Ryker and Great-Grandpa Steck. Here-after known as grandpa Jack. :)  He is such a good grandpa too. We miss grandma so very much but know that she got a little time with Ryker before he came here.

More pictures with grandma and grandpa Steck. We just can't get enough of this little guy. I promise I still have other children. They will still show up once in a while on this blog I am sure!!

4 week checkup

Ryker had his 4 week checkup today. He is doing great.
Here are his stats:
Birth: 6lbs 8 oz, 18 inches
2 weeks: 7lbs 2 oz, 18 inches
4 weeks: 7lbs 14 oz, 19 1/2 inches

So he is growing! I was watching him last night and could tell his face was a little fatter. Big cheeks tend to run in our family through my dad's side. Even my 5 pounders had big cheeks.

The best news today is that he is off the oxygen and apnea monitors completely. The Dr. didn't feel the need to keep it on. I still have to watch him while he eats to make sure his color stays good and his breathing fairly regular. But he is doing so well.

Other news is that we still aren't done with the medical procedures....
Our pediatrician suspects possible developmental dysplasia of the hips. (Hip subluxation) His left hip joint is loose. We go up to Primary Children's next Friday to see a pediatric radiologist who will do an ultrasound to see what the next steps are. I did some research and found that in a mild case the ligaments are just loose and will likely tighten up as he grows. A moderate case involves a shallow hip socket which will require the use of a brace for a few months to reposition his hip as he grows. Severe cases result in the hip dislocating and would require casts and possible surgery. I am sure it isn't that bad. We will hope for the mild case of course, but hey sometimes when it rains it pours.
But we won't stress about it until we get the results back from the ultrasound. :)

I don't have any new pictures to post. Sorry. I will get that remedied soon.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I will be making frames tomorrow with my wonderful mother. She will probably get distracted and want to hold the baby :) but who could blame her. and my niece and sister in law are in the country for a while so I will get to see them soon. Congrats to my cousin on her wedding on Saturday, and I will post again next week.

Happy Halloween

This week went so fast. I think having a baby finally caught up to me now that we are home and I have had time to rest.I finally realized I am still a little sore and very tired...  but we still had a great week. We had some dinners brought in this week and I am so grateful to those that brought us such good food. I just didn't have the energy to cook.

We had our first snowstorm on Tuesday. You know it is winter when the 'snow geese' appear...
by the way I am sorry to whoever happened to be driving past when I scared these geese off my lawn and into the road and into the way of your car.....  and sorry to the goose that got hit....  oops.

Here is Jayce and Kenzie getting their turns at holding Ryker. It is now a battle at our house. If someone gets to hold him longer than the others then those others think they need another turn ...

Friday Jayce had his Halloween parade at his school. Dustin and the girls went over to watch him and then up to Grandma Livingston's for a minute to show off their costumes.

We never got around to carving our pumpkins so we improvised..

Of course I did Halloween pictures for anyone that came over and wanted them done. Here is my cute group:

The girls had a great time trick or treating. We canvassed what we could before Dustin had to go to work. Jayce went with some friends and came home with more than the girls had combined. Haylee was good to answer the door and hand out treats (which we still have TONS of) and watch Ryker while I took pictures.
Here are the 3 youngest before I sent the little ghouls to bed.

What a great day. Good thing I had today to catch up from all the fun!
