I wasn't planning on having an ultrasound for 3 more weeks but wasn't going to turn down this opportunity. I recently signed up to participate in a medical study being done at some of the hospitals in Utah. They are doing a study on preterm births. The long term outcome of the study won't help me but maybe my daughters if they end up with the same trouble I have had. They are studying genes and proteins and other stuff to see if they can find a reason for the increase in preterm births. Immediate benefits for me include extra medical care at no cost, they will watch the way I progress throughout my pregnancy and watch for warning signs etc in order to try and prevent me having the baby preterm, and the little stipend will be fun to spend after the baby is here.
Any way now that I have bored you.... The biggest benefit came at my first appointment. The Dr. asked if I had had my ultrasound yet to know what I was having. I said no, and he asked if I wanted to take a peek. DUH!!! I felt kind of bad that Dustin wasn't there but I wasn't going to pass the opportunity up. So here are a few pics....

the best for last.... It's a BOY!!!!!
We are so excited for the little guy but just genuinely grateful to know that he is growing and all the essential parts seem to be there. I was actually able to see all his toes at one point.
On the down side that night I also had my first of 20 weekly progesterone shots.... Not fun. But one more attempt to keep this baby in there to full term.
Anyway. Feeling blessed all around and grateful for the ups and downs because it is all part of the great miracle.

Tumbling Review
Haylee has been taking tumbling for her first year. She really loved it and wants to keep going. She did learn how to cartwheel and do backbends and did pretty good compared to the other kids her age. It might be something fun to pursue with her. She has the body and the flexibility which I never did...

I also seem to be lacking any pictures of preschool graduation. I know I have video but am too lazy to upload it right now. But Haylee did graduate from preschool too. They performed songs about nursery rhymes and she got to dress up as the cow that jumped over the moon. She was so proud because she jumped over the moon with out kicking him....
It was hard to see her finish knowing that she is growing up and the she will start kindergarten in the fall.

The things kids say
I know I am way behind on my posting and I promise to try to catch up soon but I have to hurry and post this before I forget. I have been so bad at writing down the cute things that my kids say that I need to be better so here is the most recent.
Last night Kenzie came out of her room after I had put her to bed and she says, "Mom my tummy's hungry." Then she lifts up her shirt points to her belly and says "See! right there!" I laughed so hard. One because she was stalling about going to bed and two, because she had probably felt the rumbles and knew exactly "where" she was hungry.
Early yesterday she was playing with Haylee and all of a sudden she stands up, looks at me and says, "Do you have any Cay-ets? (carrots)." Imagine it in a go-fish type of question. I almost said nope go fish. But instead I went to the fridge and got her the bag of carrots. Isn't is awesome that her favorite snack is those pre-cut baby carrots? It is the only thing I seemed to have done well with as a mom... ;)

Dance Festival
Not the greatest pics. Wrong camera.. no zoom. But here are some pictures from Jayce's Dance Festival. He finished 4th grade this year and they get to do the parachutes. His favorite part was when they made the big mushroom and got under it.

Fancy Nancy
Our ward had a mother/daughter party based on the books Fancy Nancy. We dressed up and had dinner and played games and they had me set up my set to take pictures of everyone. It was really fun.
