Happy Birthday Ryker

 10-10-10 is a magic day for us this year! It is Ryker's 1st birthday!

I can't believe it has already been a year...  It went so fast. I like to post some pictures to see the changes in the first year... 

The first days...
born 4 weeks early with pneumonia and a pneumo-thorax (hole in his lung). Spent 16 LONG days in the NICU

2 1/2 weeks (the day after he came home) Still on oxygen for a while (even though I took it off for the picture)

3 months - Happy, healthy little boy.

6 Months - wants to be a fireman like his grandpa Steck

9 months

1 year!!  yay for cake!

He is such joy to have in our lives. Wild, opinionated, independent, snuggly, happy Ryker.

At 1 year he weighed 19 lbs, 15 oz, is 29.1 inches tall.   10th percentile for height,  10th percentile for weight...  they say he is a little small..  but he is still my big boy. He is almost caught up where he should be developmentally. and we think he is pretty smart. He says several words:
zee-zee (kenzie)
Jay (jayce)
yes
uh-oh
shoes
buh-bye
da-da (still refuses to say mama)
and his versions of 'I get it', 'chase', 'all gone', 'night-night'
and I know there are a few more but I forget..  

he signs: please, more, milk, drink, all done, - won't learn thank you no matter how hard we try

raised his hands high in the air for 'up' to get out of his high chair

makes a car sound perfectly especially during sarament meeting

LOVES baths

gives mama BIG OPEN MOUTH SLOBBERY kisses and I LOVE them :)

gave up bottles and baby food at 11 months and eats anything and everything we give him which is so great. Sleeps good all night, but isn't much of a morning person until he gets his breakfast.. 

Has EVERYONE wrapped around his finger.
