Rainy days, yummy foods, and remembering

It rained today pretty hard. I started to wonder if we were adding onto the patio or creating a swimming pool...

When the weather is bad I like to cook because it warms up the house and makes it smell good.
I made breadsticks and put them on the dowels like pizza factory..  mmm.. 

They are always a hit..



As today is also 09-11-11 My thoughts turned back to 10 years ago. I can still remember where I was when I heard the news. I remember just sitting and watching tv all day and the sadness but more than that I remember what happened in the aftermath. The surge of American Pride. There were flags everywhere, and America as a nation banded together in strength. And we fought back. I am so proud of the servicemen and women who fight for our country and for the firemen, other first responders and most of all the police officers who also fight their own battles and put their lives on the line every day.  As a nation we are not perfect, but I am so glad that I can raise my children here where we have religious freedom, education, food on the table, and clothes to wear.  Although there are things to be careful and watchful about, and people to be wary of, I don't live in fear. I can wear what I want, say what I want, learn what I want and be who I want to be.        God Bless America.
