Grandpa's funeral

The funeral was so nice. It was hard but we know he is in a far better place.

Here are some portions of his obituary:

~Richfield, Utah - Keith R. Hooper Sr. age 86, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at his home in Richfield due to complications from a fall earlier and a short battle with cancer.

He was born July 21, 1923 in Annabella, Utah. He graduated from South Sevier High School attended one year at Utah State University. He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II.
After the war ended, he returned to Annabella and worked as a farmer. He later became a Highway Patrolman, a position he held from 1957 to 1979 when he retired as a Lieutenant.
Keith always raised a good garden and delighted in sharing his produce with friends and neighbors. He was a great example and will be missed by many.

He and his family built a cabin on Cove Mountain and he enjoyed many happy hours there in his later years, where he loved to fish on Big Lake and just relax with family and friends. ~

He was a great man. Here are some of the pictures I took.

Dustin wore his Honor Guard Uniform to show his respect to a retired UHP lieutenant and grandfather in law.

He was given a police escort to the cemetery. There were so many officers there at the funeral. It was so awesome. I get really emotional when anything has to do with law enforcement...  wonder why..

There was an Honor Guard detail there for him.

As well as a Military detail as he was a WWII veteran.

The pallbearers were the first born sons of each of his children. So these are my cousins and my older brother.

The rain was abundant but everything was so colorful and beautiful.

Haylee and my mom placing a flower on the casket.

4 of my 5 brothers and myself. We missed you Kelan but we are glad you were able to be here before he went, to say goodbye. Yes. I am the shortest one..... (but I think Landon was on his tiptoes)

He is reunited with his first sweetheart once again.

Can I tell you those pictures you took were awesome. My favorite...the black and white flowers with the one color. Just awesome! What a bitter sweet day.
